Abstract

In the Mexican accusatory criminal justice system, the administration of justice depends not only on the collection of evidence, but also on its proper interpretation and presentation before the court. In this context, forensic investigation and case theory emerge as fundamental tools in the construction of criminal proceedings. Forensic investigation enables the reconstruction of events through the scientific analysis of evidence, while case theory organizes these elements into a coherent and legally meaningful structure. This paper examines the relationship between both dimensions, highlighting their complementary nature and their role in judicial decision-making. It argues that the integration of evidence and argumentation is essential to ensure more objective, efficient, and well-founded legal processes.
